A range of care, based on our experience of the needs of the elderly and complementing the services offered by the local CLSC, is provided by our attentive care team.
Our team of dedicated orderlies, patient-focused nursing assistants and qualified night supervisors receive training in accordance with the requirements of the Ministère de la Santé et des Services Sociaux. The techniques taught are reviewed and updated throughout their careers, so that they are always on the cutting edge of new care methods.
With a fortnightly visit from the residence’s family doctor and the management of medical records by the head nursing assistant, residents who wish to receive on-site medical supervision without having to go outside are well catered for.

Over the years, residents’ state of health can change. That’s why the residence’s care team, in collaboration with various CLSC and CIUSSS staff, carries out assessments as needed, to ensure that residents are well cared for and receive all the help they need. Residents wishing to receive services can add them to their lease or à la carte, depending on the frequency they wish. Personal assistance, domestic help and nursing services are also available.
In the bright, spacious dining room, residents are served at the table, just like in a restaurant. We offer 3 meals a day. During each service, residents choose from a choice of two varied daily menus, with the option of selecting one of the many à la carte menus when they feel like it. Meals cooked on site by our qualified chef are based on Canada’s Food Guide and are adapted to the nutritional needs of seniors.
The daily menus are based on a 5-week cycle, which the chef transforms over the months to prioritize seasonal foods.
Residents who prefer to enjoy their meals in the comfort of their own apartment can take advantage of a cabaret delivery service on an as-needed or daily basis.

Manoir Gouin is a proud member of the Regroupement québécois des résidences pour aînés (RQRA ). RQRA is a non-profit organization of seniors’ residences. Its 700 members, managers and owners of residences with over 78,000 rental units across Quebec, provide a quality living environment for independent seniors, as well as assistance and care for those in loss of autonomy. It contributes to the advancement of many key issues for the Quebec housing and seniors’ housing sector, by leveraging its strength as a representative at the political, administrative and operational levels.
Implementing a process of continuous improvement in the quality of the services we offer necessarily involves training. The Regroupement works closely with key players in the seniors’ housing sector to develop structured training programs that meet the needs of its members.
Those wishing to experience Manoir Gouin for a temporary period can do so by reserving a unit for a short stay. These temporary residents have access to all nursing home services, including 3 meals.
Whether for a trial period, to assess a loved one’s autonomy, for convalescence, to receive treatment away from home at Hôpital Sacré-Cœur, or simply for pleasure, those wishing to experience Manoir Gouin for a temporary period can do so by reserving a unit for a short stay.
This type of rental gives access to all the residence’s services in a furnished 11/2 or 31/2 apartment, depending on availability. Manoir Gouin offers 3 meals, 2 snacks, weekly housekeeping, linen and towel laundry, cable TV, access to all activities and common areas.
Short-stay apartments are available on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Guests who wish to do so can add the health services available at the health center or in the apartment, according to current prices.
A wide variety of activities, proposed by our dynamic animator, are organized on a monthly basis. Each month, she gives you a calendar of daily activities adapted to seniors.
We also offer individualized sessions for the most isolated residents to counter their loneliness.
Monthly parties with live music and entertainment or special activities are organized to mark residents’ birthdays.
Our friendly cockatiel Charlot brightens up the entrance hall with his gentle chirps and little flights of fancy, to the delight of young and old visitors and residents alike.
Numerous conferences are organized throughout the year to inform residents about subjects that affect them and are of concern to them. Community police officers, baccalaureate nurses, firefighters, notaries, dentists, pharmacists, massage therapists, occupational therapists, accountants and many other specialists came to make us aware of certain situations that could affect our residents.
Residents aged 70 and over are eligible for financial assistance in the form of monthly payments (averaging between $141.00 and $430.00), thanks to the tax credit for home support for the elderly and the housing allowance.
