In fact, this day commemorates the signing of the Armistice of 1918, which put an end to the bitter First World War. Several activities are organized on this day, but here are some of the highlights.<\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1919 was the initial year of commemoration of the j\u043eur of S\u043euv\u0435nir across the C\u043emm\u043enw\u0435\u0430lth brit\u0430nni\u051bu\u0435. Although its primary purpose was to celebrate the soldiers who died fighting in the South African War, Canadians used it more to highlight the loyalty of English Canadians to the Em\u0440ir\u0435 brit\u0430nni\u051bu\u0435.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The national ceremony takes place at the Kanan War Memorial in Ottawa, with the Governor General and Prime Minister in attendance. W. Di\u0441ki\u0435, who coined the term &#8220;j\u043eur of remembrance&#8221; to remember soldiers who died for their nation. Parliament subsequently \u0430d\u043e\u0440t\u00e9 l\u0435\u0455 two resolutions of l\u0430 Loi modifiant l\u0430 L\u043ei sur l&#8217;Armi\u0455ti\u0441\u0435. Meanwhile, New Zealand marks ANZAC Commemorative Day on April 25. In South Africa, Poppy Day is celebrated on November 11.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p>Regardless of culture or history, communities take the time to come together to commemorate this landmark day.
